Safety and comfort – a cork in the children's room

Everyone has to think about decorating their child's room at some point. Designing isn't about following trends, but rather considering all the needs of children (and parents!). Every child needs a warm room with a soft floor. Is that possible without spending a fortune? Yes, here's our hero: cork flooring and underlay.

Why is cork so good?

Why is cork so great? Everyone knows about cork boards and self-adhesive cork, but what about cork in the bedroom? And what about the children's room? Cork is fundamentally an economical and environmentally friendly material. When installing cork flooring, its thermal properties retain heat in the room, saving you considerable money on heating costs. It also dampens room noise, so your children can make as much noise as they like without disturbing the neighbors or you at work. It's worth mentioning that cork flooring is also commonly used in recording studios—that gives us a good idea, doesn't it?

Some more tips and tricks

Did I mention the pinboard? It's really handy for kids of all ages. You can pin photos, funny quotes, homework reminders, and even a timetable. It's not just useful for the kids, it's useful for you too: you can just glance at the board and see what's going on, if your child needs to prepare anything for school, or you can take the board with you on an outing if you like! It's also a great way to pin messages to your child: a little surprise in the morning? Like "Mommy loves you, remember?" or a free circus ticket with the pinboard? There are so many possibilities! All you need is a little creativity!

Cork accessories

Cork accessories can also be useful in children's rooms. The most common are cork cushions for hot drinks, for drinking tea while writing essays or playing games, or for room parties where everyone wants to drink tea. Cork is also great for separating objects. For example, if two children share a room and each needs their own space, you can easily separate the two spaces with furniture or cork.
